2 horas sobre ruedas - 2 hours over the wheels

Hoy ha hecho un día de verano en Barcelona y ya desde bien pronto que estaba pensando en que esta tarde iba a salir a patinar. De hecho ya llevaba unos días planeando la ruta, ya que últimamente me he centrado más en los entrenos de running (este domingo hay la Cursa de Bombers en Barcelona y tenia que ponerme las pilas!! :) ) y cómo mis piernas necesitaban relajarse de tanto impacto y no me puedo estar quieta ni un segundo, hoy me he puesto mis queridos Seba FR1 y me he dado una vuelta de dos horas! El tiempo me ha acompañado ya que no hacia un calor excesivo y corría un airecito que invitaba a estar en la calle con los patines puestos!!!

He salido de el Clot y he cogido la Meridiana dirección Glories. Allí he bajado por Diagonal hasta el C.C. Diagonal Mar y me he ido hasta el Passeig Garcia Faria. Me he dado un paseo por todo el Forum y luego he vuelto por todo el paseo. He continuado por el Passeig Marítim hasta el Hotel W Barcelona. (El mar estaba espectacular!!) Luego he dado la vuelta y me he ido por el Passeig de la Barceloneta dónde me he sentado un ratito a descansar y a mirar el atardecer junto al Port Vell. Me he ido hasta Colom por Passeig Colom i allí he dado la vuelta, he vuelto por dónde he venido y a la altura del Port Olímpic he cogido la Calle Wellington hasta la Meridiana y vuelta a casa!!

Que gran tarde!!! He ido sola pero os aseguro que me lo he pasado genial!! Que más se puede decir?? I Love Skating!! :)

Today it has been a summer day in Barcelona. During all the day I only had one thing in my mind: skate!!! Well, I have been planning this afternoon over wheels from some days ago because on the last weeks I have spent most of the time running (next sunday I will run the "Cursa de Bombers" and I had to prepare it!! :) ) and my legs needed to relax, but as I can't be quiet, I have put on my dear Seba FR1 and I have been rollerblading for two hours. The weather has been perfect, not so hot and with a soft wind that makes you feel comfortable!!

I have started the route in el Clot and I have gone through la Meridiana until Glories. Once there, I have taken Diagonal until I reached Diagonal Mar shopping center. I have gone to El Forum and I have been skating there. Later on I have gone through Passeig Garcia Faria, Passeig Maritim, Hotel W Barcelona and Passeig de la Barceloneta. I have stopped there to enjoy the sunset in the Port Vell. After I have gone until Columbus Monument and then I have come back and when I was in the Olimpic Port, I have taken Wellington Street, Meridiana until I have arrived home!!

What a nice afternoon!!! I have been alone but I promise that I enjoyed a lot!!! What else can I say?? I Love Skating!! :)

Volviendo a los viejos hábitos - Back to the old habits

Hace unos días que he retomado el hábito de volver a casa, después del trabajo, patinando. Hacia mucho tiempo que había dejado de hacerlo y me doy cuenta que me hace sentir genial. Después de estar 8 horas de pie detrás del mostrador de recepción, el hecho de patinar y sentir esa sensación que sólo sientes encima de las ocho ruedas, hace que me oxigene tanto de cuerpo cómo de mente. Además, si he tenido un día duro y he terminado cansada y de mal humor, parece que ese sentimiento se quede atrás con la velocidad y llegue a casa más tranquila y de mejor humor.

Otra de las cosas que he estado haciendo estos días es enseñar a un amigo. Hemos quedado un par de veces y, aunque la primera vez fue un poco desastre por los patines malos del decathlon que tenia, esta vez que ya ha adquirido algo más decente, ha sido muy gratificante ver, cómo practica todo lo que le enseño, el esmero que le pone y ver cómo le van saliendo las cosas. Yo creo que en un par de clases más ya me lo podré llevar a las rutas fáciles de los sábados por la tarde!! :)

Some days ago I decided that I would return to that old habit that I used to do: come back home, after work, skating. It was long ago since I did it and I realize that it makes me feel really good. After 8 hours standing behind the front desk, the simple fact of rollerblading fills my body and my head of fresh air, and if i have had a hard day at work, this bad feeling goes away with the speed and I get home more quiet and in a better mood.

Another thing that I have done is to teach a friend. We have met a few times and even the first day was a bit disaster because of the skates (he had a bad pair of skates purchased on decathlon), this time (he's already got better skates) I have had the satisfaction of see how he gets all the things that I show him. I firmly believe that in a few more days he will be able to go to the easy routes on saturdays afternoon!! :)

Os han traido patines los Reyes? - Have you received skates from the Kings?

Hoy és el dia de Reyes, cómo cada año en todas las casas se escucharán un montón de Oh's y Ah's porque esta noche mágica habrá dejado un montón de sorpresas. Han venido los reyes! Pero ¿cuantos de vosotros habeis recibido patines o algo relacionado con el mundo del patinaje?

Good Morning!

Today is the King's day (an Spanish Tradition), as every year in all the houses there will be lots of Oh's and Ah's because this magic night has brought lots of surprises. The Three Kings had come!! But, how many of you have received a pair of skates or something related about the skating world?

Que es lo mejor que se puede hacer en San Esteban? - What's the best thing to do in St. Stephen's day?

Dia de San Esteban. Hace un dia espectacular, algo frío pero con un sol radiante. He quedado con Mireia, así que me pongo los patines y me voy por la Meridiana hasta la calle Marina. Hemos quedado en la Barceloneta, así que me bajo toda la calle Marina hasta el Paseo Marítimo y lo sigo hasta llegar al punto de encuentro. Que gran sensación! Hacia muchos dias que no me ponia los patines en los pies! Demasiado! Siempre que me paso dias sin patinar lo echo de menos. A veces estoy demasiado ocupada y me olvido de que tengo unos patines y de que me encanta patinar...debo retomar las buenas costumbres de antes. Quizá sea uno de los propósitos de año nuevo...
Una vez me encontré con Mireia, esperamos a Lluís. Otro buen amigo patinador! Aprovechamos que estabamos en la Barceloneta para visitar los barcos de la Barcelona World Race, una impresionante vuelta al mundo en 90 dias en unos veleros tremendamente ligeros y tripulados unicamente por dos personas. Magnificos!
Luego nos dimos un paseo por el Paseo marítimo y subimos por la calle Marina. Cómo ya era tarde, Mireia se fué dirección Plaza España, Lluís dirección Sagrada Familia y yo hacia Glòries.
Un dia genial!

Saint Stephen's day. Beautiful weather, a bit cold but the sun were shining. I had to meet Mireia so I put on my skates and took Meridiana street until I reached Marina street. We had to meet us in la Barceloneta, so I went down Marina street and later I took the Passeig Maritim until the meeting point. What a nice feeling! It was too many days without having the skates on my feet. I always miss skating. Sometimes I am so busy that I forget how much I love skating. I have to come back to the old habits. It's maybe my new year proposal...
Once I met Mireia, we waited for Lluís, another nice friend skater. As we were on la Barceloneta we visited the ships that will travel all over the world in the Barcelona World Race during 90 days. Those ships are extremely light weighted and they are skipped only for two people. Amazing!
Later on, we went skating through the Passeig Maritim, then we took Marina street back. As it was late, Mireia went away to reach Plaza España, Lluís took the way to Sagrada Familia and me, I went to Glòries.
It was a beautiful day!

Ruta Fácil - Nivel avanzado - Easy route - High Level

Hacia mucho tiempo que no iba a las rutas fáciles de los sabados por la tarde. De hecho, creo que fui unas cuantas veces cuando empecé con esto del patinaje y después por varios motivos dejé de ir. La cosa es que, hace un par de semanas (el sábado claro), tenia ganas de salir a patinar y me decidí a acercarme al forum para unirme a la ruta fácil, ya que me enteré de que habria dos rutas, una fácil para nivel iniciación y otra más avanzada para los que ya empezaban a dominar el tema. Cómo me lo pasé muy bien, ayer, que volvia a ser sábado, decidí repetir y la verdad es que no me arrepiento, me lo pasé genial y cómo no, disfrutando de los amigos y de algo que me encanta, el patinaje.
Salimos del forum (Paseo Garcia Faria)a las 18.00h y fuimos a buscar la Diagonal, que subimos hasta que nos encontramos con el Paseig Sant Joan, lo subimos entero hasta el Barrio de Gràcia y seguimos subiendo, callejeando, hasta la Plaza Lesseps, dónde nos hicimos una foto e iniciamos de nuevo el descenso. Hay que ver, cómo cuesta subir, peró todo tiene su recompensa: la bajada!!!! bajamos por los mismos sitios y acabamos de nuevo en el forum! Tardamos unas tres horas, pero fué realmente una tarde fantástica!!!!!

It has been a long time since I haven't gone at the Easy routes on saturday afternoon. I firmly believe that I only went four or five times when I started rollerblading and then, for different reasons I just stopped going. It was two weeks ago when I had nothing to do on saturday afternoon and I felt like skating that I decided to go back again. One of the reasons was that I heard that it would be two separated routes, one for the beginners and another one for an advanced level so I went. As I had had a really nice time enjoying one of my favourite sports close to nice friends, yesterday I decided to join them again.
So yesterday we met us at the forum area (Paseo Garcia Faria) at 18.00h. From there we went to look for Diagonal Avenue. Once there we took it all straight until we found Paseo San Juan. We went all the street up until we get Gracia Quarter. We skate through the streets of the quarter until we arrived to Lesseps Square. We took a picture there and then we started the way back and the funniest part, the way down!!!! We took the same streets back until we reach again the forum. It takes more or less three hours from the beginning until the end but it was a really, really awesome afternoon!!!

Roller -Tourism BCN!! :)

Hoy es mi ultimo dia de fiesta después de tres y en los dos dias anteriores no habia patinado nada de nada....así que esta mañana me he levantado, he desayunado, he visto que hacia un dia espectacular y no me lo he pensado dos veces: Me he cogido mis patines y mi cámara de fotos!!!!!
He cogido, cómo de costumbre, la Gran Via dirección a la Plaza de Espanya, he seguido por Gran Via hasta Universidad y de allí me he metido a callejear por el barrio del Raval, luego me he ido por el Gótico y luego he seguido por el Born acabando en la Playa de la Barceloneta!!! Cómo ya eran casi las 14.00h he vuelto por el paseo de la Barceloneta, el paseo de Colón, he enganchado el paralelo y de ahí Gran Via de nuevo para casa. He hecho unas cuantas fotos y me lo he pasado en grande yo solita!!!
